CONCEPT “A”

This concept springs from the look of a blue line art board, complete with crops and registration marks. A collage of word balloons, softly shadowed as if they’ve been pasted to the board, carry the headlines and cover blurbs.

This concept takes a cleaner and more sophisticated approach than one would expect from a comics magazine. The intended goal was to showcase the end result of the artist’s hard work, while visually reminding the reader that it all starts with a blank page. The client however felt that it could be perceived as a technical magazine, a “how-to” for aspiring artists. We agreed.
